Did you know that when you fail, you're supposed to grab God and get back up again?
Proverbs 24:16a The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
Perfection would be nice, but it won't happen until after we are raptured. We are going to trip up. We are going to fail. No one is immune to failure. Whether you tripped up 7 times or 77, shake it off and get up again. This is what God wants you to do.
To be worthy doesn't mean we live perfect lives. It means we get up again, we forget what is behind and we press on toward the mark.
"No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead." (Philippians 3:13).
Thinking on those things are excellent and worthy of praise, Philippians 4:9, (whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think on these things) means that we must THINK ABOUT what God wants and IS accomplishing in our life.
Think about what God has accomplished in your life.
We do that by looking at what we think WE have accomplished and realize that it was GOD who accomplished it. And THEN we think on THOSE things because now we see them from a CORRECT perspective.
I used to sing a song that I wrote called "The Housewife Song." God allowed me to sing that song in so many Christian settings including on live television. I believe that's because this song not only brought Him glory, but it also shed light on this very perspective of seeing our accomplishments as HIS yield in our lives.
One of the verses went like this:
"My children are a blessing,
My husband is my strength,
My home is a haven,
God's blessed me at great length.
My heart is protected
by God's holy shield;
His grace abounds forever -
I can see that in MY yield."
I wasn't bragging there when I talked about MY yield. I was focusing on HIS yield through "undeserving me."
As believers in Jesus, we must stop focusing on our failures. Rather, we need to focus on what God has accomplished in our lives. Look at YOUR yield; focus on EVERYTHING you did right because it was actually GOD working HIS accomplishments throughout your life by giving you HIS wisdom and HIS smarts and HIS power and HIS grace to accomplish them.
Think on THOSE things because those were HIS things.
In summary, when you fail, think of all that God has accomplished in your life; then grab God, and get back up again!
When you are weak, HE is strong.
